This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension (6 months) and/or permanency

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (CHS) was opened in 2006 and proudly offers secondary courses from Year 7 to 10. The school prides itself on an enrolment of over 850 students from a diverse range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, who all contribute to a vibrant and collaborative school culture.

The school's committed student services team ensure excellent pastoral care and monitoring of students, with a dedicated student services coordinator and officer working closely with each year group. Dynamic teaching staff offer engaging delivery of both main curriculum areas and a diverse range of subjects and programs catering for students with a variety of interests and needs.

The Role

As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. In this role you will collaborate and work in a team environment. The successful applicants will ideally possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and well-being of students. You will ideally be organised and be able to use your initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.

Working under teacher direction in a diverse role, the successful applicants should also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority. Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs is an important aspect of this role.
