This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension

The ideal commence date will be Week 8, Term 2, however this is negotiable. We encourage all applicants available now and from Term 3 to apply.

Located in the Great Southern Wheatbelt, Lake Grace District High School is set in a vibrant and progressive rural community. Students will feel welcome and be inspired to reach their potential in a nurturing and friendly school environment.

We cater for children from Kindergarten to Year 10, with students in Years 11 and 12 being afforded the opportunity to complete their studies on-site through the School of Isolated and Distance Education.

The Role

As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. In this role, you will collaborate and work in a team environment. The successful applicant will ideally possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and well-being of students. You will ideally be organised and be able to use your initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.

The successful applicant will work under teacher direction in a diverse role. As an Education Assistant you would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs.

We are looking for an applicant who is ideally well organised and able to use initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources, for use in classes. Additionally, the successful applicant will assist with displays and with cleaning and safe storage of items after classes and activities.
