Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy Branch is seeking to establish a pool of Principal Consultants, Primary – Curriculum and Assessment – Languages for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of December 2026.
The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
We have recently commenced adopting and adapting the Pre-primary to Year 10 Australian Curriculum version 9.0 within the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline. This provides an exciting opportunity for new staff to join our team and be involved in updating the Western Australian curriculum and support materials for teachers!
The Role
The Principal Consultant, Primary - Curriculum and Assessment – Languages, will manage and provide leadership for the development and review of curriculum, assessment and standards support materials for Kindergarten to Year 6 in Languages. This position will involve the development and review of curriculum, assessment and standards support materials developed by the Authority, together with responsibility for using processes and meeting deliverables related to the project of adopting and/or adapting the Australian Curriculum version 9.0 for the Pre-primary to Year 10 Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.
We are currently seeking additional staff to fulfill responsibilities for the following Pre-Primary to Year 6 languages:
- A Western Australian Aboriginal Language
- Chinese
- French
- German
- Hindi
- Indonesian
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Punjabi
- Tamil
Applicants should also have knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline, and recent teaching experience would be an advantage.
